June pulls the psychological aspects of why and/or what is the reason we have this clutter in our lives. June encourages and prompts the reader to reflect, question and dig deeper into one's inner self to not only de-clutter one's physical space, but one's emotional and mental space to enhance wellness in those areas."Behind the Clutter" is an easy read. As I read each section, I felt like I was actually sitting with June over a cup of tea - chatting about the issues and concerns that were brought to the surface thorough the pages of the book.
I claim to be a very organized person. In fact many people in my life come to me for guidance and assistance in organizing. Some often make fun of me and the way I know where everything I own is "housed". Reading "Behind the Clutter" was revitalizing and refreshing. Great Tips and Helpful!
I devoured this book. I encourage everyone to read the 400+ pages and like a slow drip gourmet coffee, let the teachings of truth, love, meaning, and purpose percolate. After reading this book stuff that I have tried to deal with for at least two years to no avail, I dealt with in two evenings. It wasn't a yearly spring clean or purge insomuch as it was THY life changing decluttering attitudinal shift that was massively and sorely needed. Thank you June. 🙏🏼
I was seeking a book on the psychological attachment to things, and discovered June's book. She did an amazing job of helping me discern why I keep certain things, what I should get rid of, and what I should honor. This book encouraged me to go through my home room by room, and declutter physically and emotionally. Thank you June for sharing your story to help others!
What a riveting book! On first look, this book may appear to be stories to motivate yourself to declutter. It may feel repetitive. But upon delving into the content you find yourself focusing on YOU. The beat keeps you focused on what is important. June's words are the continual supportive dialogue of love and she's urging us all to "wake up" and be present and authentic, leaving the "stuff" we no longer need. I've read through the book and now look forward to going through again, re-reading passages and journaling through the exercises while searching for my "Truth, Love, Meaning and Purpose". I've also just purchased the audible version and look forward to hearing and experiencing the words and rhythm of this incredible, inspirational author.
I would recommend this book to everyone (professionals, parents, teenagers, etc.). I started reading it and could not put it down because it had so many "messages." It is very easy to read and I loved it so much I bought copies for friends and my 3 daughters. It is a very unique book which really makes you think and is very inspirational. June has a special way to sound like she is having a conversation with you and to trigger so many things in your life and just to make you think about what you want and your goals... and just about life. I truly loved how she talks about "your stuff...creating space...and especially shifting perspectives!" I can't explain it, but I truly felt "lighter" after I read it.
It is definitely a must read book!
I stumbled onto this book by mistake. It's the best mistake I've ever made. Don't let the name "Behind the Clutter" let you think its just about physical STUFF. It's not. A huge part of this book is about the REASONS why you have mental and physical clutter. You can not move on with your life after a bad breakup or a traumatic event if you can't let it go. I've held onto my "clutter" for 43 years and just now learning to let it go and accept that change is necessary. I also bought the audio book and loved hearing the energy in Junes voice as she narrated. I prefer the audio book because of that fact and can hear her voice reminding me when I go off track.Thank you June for showing me how to see my STUFF and let it go.
When I first read this book and its questions about stuff - "do you stuff your stuff?" "do you have your stuff or does your stuff have you?" "what about your body stuff?" "do you buy stuff so you can use it to store your excess stuff? ", etc. - I was amazed by June's ability to wring out one more pun. I confess that I thought it was excessive. And then the light dawned. It IS excessive - on purpose. June sticks with this language until she makes you laugh - at her cleverness and at yourself. If it seems wild and crazy that she says "stuff" this much, then isn't it even wilder and more crazy that we collect it this much? Something in this language breaks through denial and resistance. June is a great coach. She is kind, honest, forgiving, spiritual, practical, and willing to be "goofy" (her word) - all in the service of helping and inspiring others. Keep reading. The insights, the exercises, and the transformation are deep - when you stick with the "stuff" she has to offer. I can hear June asking now, "Do you get it?" (another refrain in the conversational-style of this book). Yes, thanks, June. I do.
